A unique photography course for the creative individual who wishes to use photography in their practice, Suitable for complete beginners or for those with some knowledge of photography. The course is designed to assist you with creating stunning images that can be used for websites, presentations, brochures, marketing and of course for those who just love producing wonderful photography. From interior designers to jewellery makers - from architects to gardeners, stunning imagery is a powerful tool!
Creative individuals use photography for their sketchbooks, portfolios, visual note taking and marketing of their work. With a developed sense of design, you will no doubt be capable of visualising the image that you want to produce, but sometimes the technology seems to create as many barriers as it does opportunities. This course has been created to bring down those barriers, helping you te develop a vocabulary that will compliment your design skills.
Exteriors - Using architecture as our subject, the basic photographic skills of composition, perspective & viewpoint are explored. Touching on the creative controls that the photographer uses to realise the image that they have visualised, we learn how we can exploit them to emphasise aspects of our subject.
Interiors - Building on day one we look at the influence of light and see how easily we can use it to bring out shape, form and colour or a combination that best shows the qualities of our subject. Without using specialist or costly equipment we can learn how to deal with the difficulties of shooting interiors.
Details - Taking attractive close-ups can be challenging but with a few simple tips you can soon gain confidence to take stunning photographs of even quite small objects. Most digital cameras allow us to get really close but to ensure that you get the result you want we will look again at lighting and the influence of the camera settings.
Equipment will be available to use on the course but if you wish to bring your own camera then please do. To fully explore the topics of the course you will need to have a camera that allows full manual control of exposure and focus. No prior knowledge is assumed so if you're not sure that your camera has these controls, bring it along anyway and hopefully the course will demystify you on that one!
