One of the most important artists of the 20th Century, Georgia O'Keefe was devoted to imagery that exressed what she called 'the wildness and wonder of the world. I have things in my head that are not like anything anyone has taught me' she said 'shapes and ideas so near to me, so natural to my way of being'.
O'Keefe painted New York cityscapes, animal bones and the high deserts and dramatic cliffs of her beloved New Mexico but was best known for her large scale erotic flower paintings. Les Tuileries exciting two day course will use Georgia O'Keefe as our inspiration in order to paint a large colourful contemporary floral image in acrylics. Forget botanical join the wild bunch!
References will be provided by the tutor.
* Some drawing and painting experience will be an advantage however, brave beginners are welcome.
