An Introduction to the Arts Programme
Our range of art courses aim to inspire, motivate and educate those with an interest in art whether as a complete beginner, an aspiring amateur, a skilled proffessional or a 'hands-off' enthusiast. Les Tuileries will offer a changing programme of courses, workshops, lectures and visits to accommodate a variety of abilities and interests aimed at stimulating creativity.
'Practical' art courses - Aimed at students with a variety of abilities from a complete beginner to the polished professional. For students terrified of drawing stick figures or with only 'school day' knowledge of drawing and painting. A relaxed environment in which to share embarassing mistakes, lose the fear and prove that you do have an artistic bone in your body!
For those who have basic skills there are refresher courses aimed at improving, motivating and inspiring. Experiment with new techniques, explore a variety of different subject matter and stimulate your imagination. For experienced artists our courses are designed to help maintain confidence and focus while taking risks with your work.
'Inspired by' - One and two day practical workshops centered around the style of a well known artist. From Hockney to Holbein and De Vinci to O'Keefe, students will learn a little about the artists life and their techniques and use as inspiration towards an exciting contemporary painting in 'the style of'.
'London Arts Plus' - An intensive three day course aimed at artists of all abilities. Students will assemble at a prestigious London gallery to explore a particular theme with guided tours and inspiring talks. On day two we will meet in the Les Tuileries studio and after enjoying a demonstration of skills from a professional artist we will embark on a series of drawing and painting excercises inspired by sights seen. Day three will be entirely dedicated to exploring and experimenting with our chosen genre in a variety of mediums. Please contact us for current venue or see course list.
Studio Sessions -Monthly evening informal studio sessions with a small group of other artists. We offer a beautiful light and airy environment with good working facilities in which artists can share and practice their individual skills. Although unstructured our resident tutor will be on hand to offer guidance and motivation. The aim is to work independently on your own chosen projects however, it is hoped that an empathetic arm around the shoulder or a gentle push will encourage focus and confidence in our work!
Tailored Tuition - Les Tuileries is able to offer specific tailored tuition or confidential studio sessions with a professional artist/tutor if a course or workshop does not answer your particular requirement. Are you a young person looking for help with art course work? Do you need advice on portfolio presentation? Are you a mid-career artist looking to learn a specific skill? Do you need an objective overview of your work, a re-evaluation? Not sure on how to persue artistic goals and feeling low on motivation and confidence?
Paint and Party - Are you looking for an unusual gift idea or a corporate function with a difference? Les Tuileries can offer fun filled painting days with private tutors. Creative excercises to promote teamwork and motivation. Leave the lunch, wine and celebration cake up to us!!
